Blurred lights at the Central Railway Station, Stuttgart, 1986When I was standing on the central station's platform, waiting for my train to to arrive, it was late in the evening and much too dark for a photo.  I then decided to deliberately blur the photo by moving the camera during the time exposure. Flourescent tubes behind a pane of synthetic material, Stockholm, 1998On a suburban station in Stockholm's north (Hässelby Strand), I saw this unusual, iridescend light.  It was created by flourescent tubes that shone through a pane of a synthetic material (reinforced with wires).  When I visited the place again in 2003, the panes had been replaced with ordinary glass. Fog whisps drifting over illuminated top of the pass, Island of Madeira, 2005From the hotel, approx. 100 m below the pass, I could watch fog whisps drifting over the top of the pass and then dissolve.  They appeared because clouds on the island's north side were pushed to the south side by the wind.  The lamps illuminate the top of the pass (left) as well as a nearby levada (water canal, right).  Some stars are faintly visible.
