After I had spent a day in Canada's Algonquin National park, it had become late when I eventually found a hotel in a tiny village. Whilst I unloaded my car, the dusk turned an intense pink and all I had to do was to take my camera and go a few steps towards the lake and the old landing stage.

On my Scotland holiday, I had spent some nice days on the Isle of Skye, off the northwest Scottish coast. When I was back on the main land, I was amazed to see this island in the distance behind the lighthouse when it cleared up.

On an overcast day, I was on my way to Stockholm, driving south of the Mälar Lake. I was looking for a shortcut to the north, but could not find a bridge. When I reached the dead end, I was rewarded with this unique, tranquil scenery.

On a ferry passage from Frederikshavn (Denmark) to Larvik (Norway), I had ample time to watch the seagulls. And it took me time to get this photo showing nothing else than the bird and the deep blue sky.

When the ferry from Porto Santo left for Madeira in the last evening light, it was passing a small lighthouse with a flashing light. I concentrated on releasing the shutter when the green light was on.

When I visited Madeira's west coast, I stopped at a teahouse. In front of it, a terrace laid in the sunshine, more than 300 m above the sea level. I relished the view, the sun and the faint sound of the surf.
