It was a rather foggy winter's day when I got off the train to walk through a region that had struck me on an earlier ride. When I reached the creek, it cleared up and the sun cast a pink light on the snow.

In early winter, when white frost had fallen during the night, I found this rose hip in low a rose bush by the wayside. The sun had not yet been able to melt the white frost away.

On a visit to Berlin, I took the train to Lehnitz (just south of Oranienburg). I had already visited the Lake there before that time, but this time, it was completely frozen over and I was able to walk on the ice from shore to shore. On my return, I saw the reed that I had passed before.

On the way from Aalborg to the ferry in Frederikshavn, I passed Dronninglund Castle. It was bitter cold and the castle's moat was covered with a thick ice layer. The air trapped bubbles had formed peculiar, fantastic shapes.

The sun was already low in the sky when I reached this field whose uneven patches cast little shadows that contrasted with the sun's pink light.

Right in front of the student hostel, a little twig fallen from a tree was deeply buried in the fresh snow when the sunrays brushed against the snow's surface.
